In hot seasons, it’s normal to see cockroaches visiting our kitchen. This place is their favorite because it provides the perfect temperature for breeding and feeding on food remnants found in the trash.
This can be a problem as they can roam all over the kitchen, spreading a large amount of bacteria that can seriously affect our health. - Add 2 more cups of water and mix these ingredients well.
- Now, simply mop the floor (first sweep to remove any dust) as you normally would.
This way, you create a repellent layer against cockroaches.
Note: If you have a cockroach infestation, it’s necessary to consult with a pest control professional.
Hacks and Tips
Another way to repel these insects is with aromatic plants; the scent is so strong for them that it naturally makes them retreat. Plants with a potent smell for cockroaches include bay leaves, mint, and basil.
To eliminate them, you can use baking soda: Mix equal parts baking soda with sugar and water. Apply this mixture in places where these insects appear (near the trash, in holes, etc.), and you will notice how they gradually disappear.
Another recommendation is to clean the countertop and the floor daily. Cleaning about 4 times a week is sufficient to ensure these cockroaches don’t have a comfortable place to breed and feed.
